
Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist

I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist registered with HCPC and BPS. I have been qualified since 2005. I am experienced working with a wide range of psychological problems with both children and adults. My area of specialism is PTSD and Complex Trauma. My core doctoral training was in CBT and I have completed further training in various therapeutic modalities. I have achieved further training in EMDR and am an accredited EMDR Consultant. I have also completed further training in Transactional Analysis and am a certified Psychotherapist. I have also trained in schema focused therapy, ACT, and CFT. I work in both the NHS and private practice. I offer assessment, inclduing medicolegal assessment, psychological therapy and supervision.

Dr Richard Pearson qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2014. He has worked across a range of services, supporting individuals with complex emotional wellbeing difficulties. As part of his clinical training, he developed a foundation in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and has since expanded his expertise across multiple therapeutic approaches.
Following qualification, Dr Pearson completed further practitioner-level training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Since completing his EMDR training in 2020, this has become a key modality in his work, supporting many individuals with trauma-related difficulties.
He has also undertaken additional introductory training in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), which he integrates into his therapeutic practice. Since 2018, Dr Pearson has provided psychological therapy as a freelance practitioner across a number of services. He currently works across both the NHS and the private healthcare sector.
