Dr Adele Simpson is a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Practitioner (Clinical) Psychologist, and her specialist field is in clinical neuropsychology, particularly traumatic brain injury. She has experience across acute medical, inpatient neurorehabilitation, and community neurorehabilitation settings, and has completed postdoctoral specialist training in clinical neuropsychology (the PGDip ‘Knowledge’ component’).
Dr Simpson is now undertaking the final ‘Practice’ element of her training in order to gain eligibility for entry on the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists (SRCN), which is the gold-standard for Clinical neuropsychology expertise in the UK. Her clinical work routinely involves undertaking neuropsychological assessments to inform neurorehabilitation of patients with difficulties ranging from mild to severe. In addition, her role includes development of care plans for management of behaviours that challenge, training and supervision of other professionals including support workers, and complex capacity assessments on a range of matters, including health, welfare, finances, and litigation. Dr Simpson remains research active and contributes to the academic literature which supports clinical neuropsychologists.
