Dr. Hayley Gould is a Clinical Psychologist and a registered Health Care and Professions Council (HCPC) Practitioner Psychologist, specializing in Neuropsychology. Since qualifying, she has worked primarily within hospital settings, supporting patients with complex health needs secondary to a range of acquired and degenerative neurological conditions, including traumatic brain injury (mild and moderate-severe).
She currently holds an NHS role in a Neuropsychology outpatient service. Her role involves providing therapeutic support and conducting comprehensive neuropsychological assessments for individuals living with a wide range of neurological conditions. She provides detailed neuropsychological reports that assist medical colleagues with differential diagnosis where appropriate and offers tailored recommendations to support an individual’s cognitive functioning and psychological well-being. Therapeutically, she works closely with allied healthcare professionals within a dynamic multi-disciplinary team and primarily draws on principles of Compassion-Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She has a working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 as applied to people with neurological conditions.
Alongside her NHS role, Dr. Gould is passionate about research and teaching. Across the 2023/24 and 2024/25 academic years, she lectured at the University of York and was responsible for teaching on the Clinical Psychology advanced modules, including ‘Applications of CBT’ and ‘Professional Issues in Clinical Psychology.’ She is in the process of pursuing publication for her doctoral thesis and is currently supervising doctoral research. In September 2025, she will be undertaking the Postgraduate Diploma for Clinical Neuropsychology to further her knowledge and expertise in the field.
