Oliver Reed is a highly motivated Assistant Psychologist and a British Psychological Society (BPS) graduate member with a background in brain injury, complex orthopaedic, and major trauma cases. He has experience assisting with the comprehensive multidisciplinary rehabilitation of individuals with acquired and degenerative neurological conditions, including traumatic brain injury and stroke. He has supported the rehabilitation of patients presenting with complex orthopaedic injuries and major trauma, including RTA-related injuries, chronic pain conditions, and post-surgical recovery.
In his role as an Assistant Psychologist, Oliver has worked dynamically across community multidisciplinary team (MDT) settings. He has frequently collaborated with neuropsychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, and case managers to support the implementation of individually tailored care plans. He has provided a diverse range of interventions across the lifespan to support the cognitive, emotional, and functional recovery of patients. Under the supervision of a Practitioner Psychologist, he has delivered psychological interventions based on the principles of cognitive behavioural therapy, supported patients in understanding the perpetuating and precipitating factors contributing to their difficulties, and helped them implement emotional-regulation strategies.
Oliver has worked with young people and their families, providing support around the systemic impact of neurological conditions and conducting classroom observations to inform comprehensive neuropsychological reports. Additionally, he has first-hand experience supporting Rehabilitation Assistants (RAs) in formulating and delivering behavioural support plans to ensure high standards and continuity of care and intervention implementation.
As an Assistant Psychologist, he is responsible for supporting neuropsychological assessments of various cognitive presentations. His responsibilities include conducting interviews, administering neuropsychometric tests, assisting with report writing, and delivering patient-friendly feedback sessions and ongoing interventions.
Having worked across clinical rehabilitation and medico-legal settings, Oliver has experience in the context of ongoing serious injury litigation. He has a strong understanding of the importance of goal-directed rehabilitation packages and maintains high standards of clinical note-keeping.
