Dr Jas Moorhouse is a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist and a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Clinical Psychologist, with over 20 years’ experience working with individuals with neurorehabilitation needs and complex health difficulties. She has worked across both the NHS and private sector in a wide range of settings, including acute hospitals, post-acute rehabilitation units, community settings, and residential homes. She completed post-doctoral Clinical Neuropsychology training at the University of Nottingham and is a member of the Specialist Register on Clinical Neuropsychology (SRCN), recognised as the gold standard for the profession in the UK. Dr Moorhouse has experience supervising clinical placements and doctoral thesis projects for the University of Hull’s Clinical Psychology Training course, to which she also contributes teaching on an ongoing basis.
She has extensive experience working with adults across the lifespan who present with both acquired and degenerative neurological conditions. Her clinical work includes neuropsychological assessment, assessment of psychological difficulties, risk assessment, neurorehabilitation, and therapeutic work with individuals and their families. She is experienced in supporting individuals under the Mental Capacity Act and the Mental Health Act, as well as those living with life-limiting conditions and significant, life-changing injuries, including amputations, spinal injuries, complex fractures, and limb reconstruction.
Dr Moorhouse regularly provides teaching, consultation, and supervision to qualified health professionals from a range of disciplines, as well as to support workers and carers. She places strong emphasis on multidisciplinary collaboration to achieve optimal outcomes and is committed to working closely with individuals and their families to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
