Dr Wilson is a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Practitioner (Clinical) Psychologist (Registration number: PYL043238) and experienced clinical researcher. He has worked across community and hospital settings supporting people with neurological conditions. This includes a range of long-term neurological conditions (such as brain injury, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, dementia and functional neurological disorder). In addition, he is experienced in working with neurodivergent young people and adults (particularly autistic people).

Dr Wilson can carry out holistic neuropsychological assessments of a person’s cognitive functioning in relation to their wider context and clinical history. He can offer cognitive rehabilitation to support individuals and the people around them to understand and manage cognitive changes relating to an injury or illness. He can also provide psychotherapy to help people live well with neurological changes, based on an individualised understanding of the person, their challenges and their goals. In psychotherapy, he draws mostly on cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) approaches. He enjoys working flexibly, creatively and collaboratively with individuals and their families to find the best way of working together.
