Dr Andrew Paget is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical). He currently holds an NHS role as Consultant and Lead for Neuropsychology within Neurorehabilitation and Acute Services. Prior to this, he has held several NHS positions working across neurointensive care, acute stroke and neurology wards, as well as specialist outpatient clinics, supporting individuals with acquired brain injury and neurodegenerative conditions. He has also worked with third sector organisations to improve mental health provision across the UK for people with neurological conditions.
Dr Paget’s experience includes neuropsychological assessment, formulation, and rehabilitation and psychological intervention across a wide range of neurological conditions. He currently works with people with profound neurodisability and their families, providing assessment, intervention, risk and behavioural management, and psychological support. He has particular expertise in assessing individuals with complex neurological presentations where traditional approaches may be limited due to significant physical, cognitive, or contextual factors.
He has extensive experience leading interdisciplinary teams, providing consultation on complex cases, and offering psychological support and supervision to treating teams. His work frequently involves practice within the framework of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards in neurorehabilitation settings. Dr Paget regularly delivers specialist external training and teaches on Doctorate programmes in Clinical Psychology. He maintains an active interest in research and policy and remains actively engaged in both areas.
