Dr Shannaz Al Jarrah is a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist with dual registration as a Practitioner Clinical Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and on the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists (SRCN) of the British Psychological Society, considered the gold standard for the profession. She completed her post-doctoral training at the University of Nottingham, and her experience spans the UK and the Middle East across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
She is experienced in the assessment and treatment of traumatic brain injury, ranging from mild to severe, within community settings, including providing clinical leadership as part of a multidisciplinary team. She undertakes complex capacity assessments and provides support, training, and supervision to clinical and care teams. She also has extensive experience working with adults across the lifespan with a range of neurological conditions, including epilepsy, stroke, dementia, and multiple sclerosis, alongside a background in learning disability.
Previously, Dr Al Jarrah contributed to the United Arab Emirates’ first dedicated stroke inpatient unit by establishing neuropsychology as a core clinical component, integrating cognitive and psychological care into the acute stroke pathway.
She has a special interest in spiritually integrated and culturally appropriate psychotherapy. She currently works in private practice as a treating clinician in clinical neuropsychology and also within a specialist faith-based and culturally appropriate mental health organisation in the third sector, providing holistic support to diverse client groups.
