Dr Richard Pearson qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2014. He has worked across a range of services, supporting individuals with complex emotional wellbeing difficulties. As part of his clinical training, he developed a foundation in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and has since expanded his expertise across multiple therapeutic approaches.
Following qualification, Dr Pearson completed further practitioner-level training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Since completing his EMDR training in 2020, this has become a key modality in his work, supporting many individuals with trauma-related difficulties.
He has also undertaken additional introductory training in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), which he integrates into his therapeutic practice. Since 2018, Dr Pearson has provided psychological therapy as a freelance practitioner across a number of services. He currently works across both the NHS and the private healthcare sector.
